「若者にチャンスと環境を与えたい」という創業時の想いにより、ペンシルではインターンシップなど様々なカタチで学びの場を提供しています。

ペンシルにどっぷり浸かった個性豊かな学生が、一体何を学び、どんなことを感じたのか？を紹介する「ぴぃ学」。今回は、九州大学からインターンシップに参加した留学生「Nguyen Hoang Phuong Thao」さんの声をお届けします。

Hello, my name is Nguyen Hoang Phuong Thao. I’m from Ho Chi Minh City, which is the biggest, the most active and exciting city in Vietnam.

In 2014, I graduated Master of Business Administration in Ho Chi Minh City, University of Economics, Vietnam. I have enrolled for studying Master of Laws at the International Programs in Law, Kyushu University, Japan since October 2021. I came to Japan in November 2021.

こんにちは、私の名前は、グエンホアンフオンタオです。
ベトナムで最も大きく、活気にあふれた都市「ホーチミン」出身です。

2014年に、ベトナムのホーチミン市経済大学の経営学修士を卒業し、2021年10月から、九州大学大学院法学研究院に入学し、法学修士課程に在籍しています。日本には2021年11月に来ました。

I want to work an internship at Pencil out of a lot of company.

A wonderful internship

In April 2022, I received the announcement emails from the Kyushu University and Fukuoka City International Center about the Internship Program in Fukuoka City.

Follow that, I applied and after the selection process, it was lucky for me to be chosen for an internship program organized by Fukuoka City Government.

From the company introduction workshop, I was interested in Pencil very much. I looked for more information about Pencil company and decided to apply for the internship program at Pencil.

I was attracted by the slogan "Innovate global business with the power of the internet" on Pencil`s website because Internet plays a very crucial role for company development nowadays. I remember that I was so happy when receiving the accepted email for the internship program from Pencil.

ペンシルのインターンに参加するきっかけとなったのは、2022年4月に九州大学と福岡市国際交流センターから来た、福岡市でのインターンシップの案内です。応募した結果、嬉しいことに選考に通過し、福岡市主催のインターンシップに参加することが決まりました。

ペンシルに興味を持ったきっかけは、会社紹介のワークショップです。ペンシルという会社のことをもっと知りたいと思い、たくさんある企業の中からペンシルのインターンシップに応募することに決めました。

ペンシルのホームページの「インターネットの力で世界のビジネスを革新する」という理念の言葉に惹かれたのは、インターネットが企業の発展にとって非常に重要な役割を果たす時代になっているからです。ペンシルからインターンシップの合格メールが届いたときは、とても嬉しかったのを覚えています。

ペンシルのインターン

At Pencil, I received a lot of kind help. I’m learning Japanese at a beginner level (the first pages of JLPT N4), so I am not confident enough to speak in Japanese. I worried about that very much before participating in the internship. However, at Fukuoka Pencil office, it is great that there are professionals who can speak English very well. Pencil staffs are very kind and nice to help me.

ペンシルでは、本当にたくさんの人にお世話になりました。
私は日本語を勉強中なので、日本語で話す自信がなかったんです。
インターンシップに参加するまで、とても不安でした。
でも、ペンシルのオフィスには、英語が堪能なスタッフもいて、スタッフのみなさんがとても親切にしてくれました。

I have got plenty of useful knowledge when joining the internship program at Pencil. I have researched for company websites and learned about How to improve a website to increase the sale by finding out bad points and giving an improvement plan. I was interested in the knowledge of the structure of a website.

In a limited time, I took some short surveys with my international and Japanese friends. I also had a valuable chance to practice the knowledge I learned at the Business Administration Program. I have done all with a passion and hoped to get the job well-done.

ペンシルのインターンシップを通して、今後も役立つであろうたくさんの知識を得ることができました。
企業のホームページを調査し、課題を見つけ、改善案を出す中で、売上を上げるためにどのようにサイト改善をしていくのかを学びました。Webサイトの構造に関する知識にも興味を持つきっかけになりました。

限られた時間の中ではありましたが、外国人と日本人の友人と一緒に簡単な調査を行ったりもしました。
また、経営学プログラムで学んだ知識を実践する貴重な機会にもなりました。
様々なことに熱心に取り組んだので、この経験が実になるといいなと思っています。

ペンシルの社員との交流

In two-week period, I’m very happy when Japanese employees at Pencil made friends with me. How kind they are when talking with me in English because my Japanese is only at the basic level. They are very lovely, active, interesting, very nice and so kind. They help me know more about the Japanese culture, thinking and cuisine.

I was so surprised that a beautiful girl at Pencil used to visit Vietnam with her mother, and another lovely girl is going to travel to Vietnam. Together we talked about the beautiful landscape in Vietnam. The photos she took when visiting Vietnam, some famous Vietnamese food she used to enjoy. How beautiful she is when wearing Ao Dai (a traditional dress in Vietnam). I am very happy to introduce with a Japanese friend at Pencil about some interesting landscape she should visit when taking a tour in Vietnam.

2週間の間に、ペンシルの社員と交流を深められたこともとても嬉しかったです。
私の日本語が基礎レベルなので、親切に英語で会話してくれました。
みんなとても素敵で、活発で、面白くて、とても親切です。
私が日本の文化や考え方、料理について理解を深められるよう手伝ってもくれました。

話をしていると、母親とベトナムに行ったことがある人や、ベトナムに旅行する予定の人もいて、とても驚きました。
一緒にベトナムの美しい景色、ベトナムに行った時に撮った写真や、ベトナムの有名な食べ物の話。
アオザイを着た時の美しさなどを話しました。
ベトナム旅行でおすすめの場所を紹介することができたことも、とても嬉しかったです。

I found what kind jobs I want to do for my future in Pencil.

The experience I got from this Internship Program will be very helpful for my future. My way of thinking and finding solution has become better.

I also get that a website for foreigners may be varied a little bit because there is some difference in culture and thinking between countries. Therefore, in my daily life, when looking for some information on internet, I have known how to evaluate a good website to use their service, the best resolution should be based on the experience of the native.

I strongly believe that my study at the University will be more effective very much when linking with the experience from this Internship. I also knew how a company in Japan work. A comfortable, professional, and modern working environment like at Pencil is very useful for creativity. I hope that I have an opportunity to work at a Japanese company, such as the Pencil Company, when I graduate.

ペンシルのインターンシップを通して、将来やりたいことが見つかりました。
このインターンシップで得た経験は、自分の将来にとても役立つと思います。考え方や解決策を見つける力もつきました。

外国人向けのサイトをユーザー視点で調査し、国によって文化や考え方が違うため、外国人向けのサイトでも外国人にとっては、ハードルがあることに気づきました。
この経験で日常生活の中で私は外国人にとって、どうやって良いサイトを見つけられるかがわかりました。
外国人が使いやすいサイトにするには、外国人評価が入ることがベストな解決策だと思います。

このインターンシップの経験を生かすことで、大学での勉強がより効果的なものになると強く感じています。
また、私は日本の会社がどのように成り立っているかも知りました。
ペンシルのように快適で、こだわりのある、最新の職場環境は、創造性を発揮できてとても良いなと思いました。
卒業後は、ペンシルのような日本企業で働けたらいいなと思います。

The Fukuoka Pencil office may be the most creative, and comfortable office that I have never visited before. This office has a wonderful view from the 15th floor of Tenjin Business Center. You can have a refresh view to get energy after hard working time. There are many modern facilities as well as convenient working rooms for innovative ideas.

ペンシルのオフィスは、私が今までに見たことのない、最もクリエイティブで快適なオフィスかもしれません。このオフィスでは天神ビジネスセンター15階からの素晴らしい景色を眺めることができます。
ここからの眺めは最高で、仕事の疲れをリフレッシュすることもできるんです。
そして、最新の設備も整っていて、革新的なアイデアを生み出すのにぴったりな場所もありました。

インターンシップを終えて

I enjoyed the internship at Pencil very much. Time flies too fast. Everyday being at Pencil, I wish the time flied slowly, so that I can have more time at Pencil. It is my great pleasure to have a chance taking the Internship Program at Pencil Company.
